On 11–12 April, Oryol hosted Gaidar Readings – “Sustainable Economic Growth: Political and Social Prerequisites”, organized by the Gaidar Institute, the Yegor Gaidar Foundation, and the Central Russian Institute of Management – RANEPA Oryol branch.

On 11 April, Gaidar Readings started in Oryol. The main topic of the readings was “Sustainable Economic Growth: Political and Social Prerequisites”.

On 26 April, Head of the Center for Legal Studies of  Gaidar Institute Irina Tolmacheva took part in an information meeting devoted to the issue of 'The Contemporary Legal Regulation of Volunteering and Voluntarism and Its Enforcement Practices in the Life of Non-profit Organizations'.

On 28 April, RBC published the article by the head of Gaidar Institute Financial Studies Department Mikhail Khromov, titled “Reducing the Rate: Why the Central Bank Started to Act More Decisively”, in which the author analyzes the Central Bank’s motives for a dynamic interest rate cut.

On 20 April, 2017, Head of the Business Surveys Laboratory Sergei Tsukhlo took part in the round table on calculating industrial production indices.

On 20 April, Senior Researcher of the Innovation Economics Department Stepan Zemtsov took part in the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum 2017.

The Economic Policy journal was included in Scopus, one of the largest international abstract databases.

Gaidar Institute Press donated 500 book copies to be handed out as prizes to the winners in VII Open Championship in Economics – a contest for senior graders of secondary schools.

On 12–13 April, the Gaidar Institute's Innovation Economics Department took part in the XVIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, held by the NRU HSE in Moscow.

On April 17, a press-conference was held at the Rossia Segodnya International Information Agency where a macroeconomic forecast prepared by experts of the Gaidar Institute, the RANEPA and the Russian Foreign Trade Academy (RFTA) was presented.
