The Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy Foundation carries out admission to training programs for academic and academic-pedagogical personnel in the postgraduate course for group of academic specialties 5.2. Economics, in scientific specialties:

5.2.1. Economic theory
5.2.2. Mathematical, statistical and instrumental methods in economics
5.2.3. Regional and sectoral economics by specialization: regional economics, industrial economics, innovation economics
5.2.4. Finance

The postgraduate program of the Gaidar Institute accepts persons with higher professional education certified by specialist's or master's degree. Admission to postgraduate studies is carried out on a competitive basis in full-time within the admission control figures (budget-funded places) and under contracts for the provision of paid educational services.

 
Duration of study: full–time education – 3 years.

Entrance tests are conducted in person, in Russian.
The minimum score based on the results of entrance tests:
In specialty:
- 4 points (for places under contracts for the provision of paid educational services)
- 6 points (for budget-funded places))
In a foreign language: 4 points
The minimum amount of competitive points for all entrance tests is
- 8 points for paid places
- 10 points for budget-funded places.
Retaking entrance tests is not allowed.

Applicants have the right to provide information about their individual achievements,
which results are taken into account when applying for training.
The points awarded for individual achievements are included in the sum of competitive points.

Availability of scientific publications in scientific publications from the "White List" of journals published on the official website of the Russian Center for Scientific Information ( https://journalrank.rcsi.science/ru/record-sources/), corresponding to the scientific specialty of the Higher Attestation Commission, indicated when applying for admission to graduate school — 10 points;

Availability of scientific publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals included in the list of Higher Attestation Commission in categories K1 and K2 (https://vak.minobrnauki.gov.ru/), corresponding to the scientific specialty stated in the application for admission (awarded in the absence of points under paragraph 1 of this section) — 6 points;

3. Participation in research works, projects, grants corresponding to the scientific specialty of the Higher Attestation Commission, indicated when applying for admission to graduate school, with confirmation of inclusion in the list of performers — 6 points;

Interview sheet with a potential scientific adviser5 points;

5. A diploma of higher education (specialty, master's degree) with honors corresponding to the group of scientific specialties indicated in the application for admission to graduate school — 1 point.

The ranking of admission lists is based on the following additional criteria (in order of priority):

  • the number of points for the entrance test in a special discipline;
  • the number of points for the entrance test in a foreign language;
  • the number of points for individual achievements;
  • availability of a statement of consent for enrollment (for budget-funded places);
  • availability of a signed education agreement and information on enrollment
    (to places under contracts for the provision of paid educational services).

For foreign citizens and stateless persons, admission conditions are established in accordance with the existing legislation.
Citizens with disabilities take entrance exams in accordance with the established procedure taking into account the peculiarities of psychophysical development, individual capabilities and the state of health of such applicants in accordance with the existing legislation.
There is no dormitory at the Gaidar Institute.
Mandatory preliminary medical examination (checkup) is not required.

 

Application for admission to graduate school:

List of documentsrequired for admission to graduate school:

identification document(s), citizenship (passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation) (provided simultaneously with the application for admission);

a document on education and qualifications (with an attachment) certifying the education of the appropriate level – specialty, master's degree (hereinafter referred to as the document of the established sample). The applicant can provide one or more documents of the established sample. A certificate of recognition of a foreign education (if necessary) is provided within the same time frame as a standard document;

a document confirming registration in the system of individual (personalized) accounting (SNILS), if available, is submitted simultaneously with the application for admission;

if it is necessary to create special conditions for entrance tests, a document certifying the applicant’s disability or limited abilities is required. The specified document is accepted by the Institute if its validity expires no earlier than the day of the application for admission. If the document does not specify its validity period, then the document is valid for one year, starting from the date of its issuance;

documents certifying the individual achievements of the applicant, the results of which are taken into account when applying for training (submitted at the discretion of the applicant);

one applicant foto in electronic form (in .jpg format) – Photo requirements;

other documents (submitted at the applicant’s discretion);

military ID (Attached Certificate) (for those liable for military service);

the applicant’s Taxpayer Identification Number (INN);

consent to personal data processing;

consent for enrollment for budget-funded places.

The documents required for admission are submitted to the Institute in one of the following ways:

submitted by an applicant or a trusted person to the Postgraduate Department at the following address: 125993, Moscow, Gazetny lane, 3-5, building 1, Entr. 8, office 537 during the opening hours of the admission committee: Monday-Friday from 10:30AM to 5PM, lunch break from 1PM to 2PM;

sent to the Institute through public postal service operators at the address: 125993, Moscow, Gazetny Pereulok, 3-5, building 1, IEP, Postgraduate Studies Department, Admission Committee;

sent in electronic form via the Institute's electronic information system by e-mail to asp@iep.ru, as well as through the Single Portal of State Services (ЕGPU).

The texts and details of all scanned or photographed documents must be legible.
