RBC published an article based on a study by the Gaidar Institute’s Industrial Organization and Infrastructure Economics Department “Overview of the State of the Coal Industry in the Russian Federation.” Experts analyzed the industry’s current situation, assessed the main risks for Russian exporters, and proposed measures to help maintain the competitiveness of Russian coal in the global market.

Researchers at the Gaidar Institute’s Industrial Organization and Infrastructure Economics Department have discovered that modern language models can forecast changes in industrial production by analyzing news, company statements, and regulatory announcements. This new approach allows for a more accurate assessment of the future state of the economy amid instability and enables a faster response to changes than traditional forecasting methods.

For the first time, the Bank of Russia has assessed the accuracy of forecasts provided by participants in the macroeconomic survey, which has been conducted since 2021 ahead of each Board of Directors meeting on the key rate. About 30 market and academic analysts participate in the survey, and their forecasts are used by the Bank of Russia when making monetary policy decisions.

The Gaidar Institute's Center for Evidence-Based Expertise (CEBE) has presented preliminary findings of a comprehensive study of Russia’s secondary residential real estate market. The study examines the current profile of the secondary housing market, analyzes the risks associated with transactions, assesses the effectiveness of the existing infrastructure supporting such transactions and identifies effective mechanisms for upgrading the security of market participants.

The Economics Department at Lomonosov Moscow State University held its annual student video competition, “Faces of Economic Reforms.” The winners of the 2025-2026 competition received special awards – books published by Gaidar Institute Press.

Realism and Utopianism: The Case of Machiavelli, recently published by Gaidar Institute Press, sparked keen interest among both the professional community and the general public.

On June the 22^nd the 3^d issue of Economic Policy was available for readers. Economic Policy is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal established by the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy in 2006.
