Irina Tolmacheva, Head of the Legal Department at the Gaidar Institute, Deputy Director of the Endowment Fund for the Development of Social and Economic Sciences and Education (FoRSENO), took part in the «Congress of Young Scientists», which was held at the Sirius University of Science and Technology on November 26–28, 2025

Vladislav Tolstov, creator and chief author of the blog «Tolstov Reader», shared his reviews of books published by Gaidar Institute Press with “TOP Tver.” In his selection, he presented reviews of five new books that explore important contemporary challenges, from the discord between the state, the market, and society to the phenomenon of technological monopolies and hidden misogyny.

In its review of new books for 2025, the popular science publication N + 1 recommends Lewis Mumford's The Art and Technology to readers. The Russian-language edition was published by Gaidar Institute Press in 2025, translated by Viktor Zatsepin.

Together with Gaidar Institute Press and the Dal, a philosophical bookstore, the DH Center is launching a series of four meetings dedicated to philosopher Shoshanna Zuboff's books "The Age of Surveillance Capitalism: The Battle for the Human Future on the New Frontiers of Power" and "Surveillance Capitalism or Democracy?"

From December 4^th through 7^th, 2025, the XXVII International Fair of Intellectual Literature non/fictioN27 will be held at Gostiny Dvor (Moscow, 4 Ilyinka Street), the 27th International Fair of Intellectual Literature non/fictioN27 will be held. The event will bring together more than 300 leading publishers, book trading companies, and independent publishing projects from all over Russia.

On November 12, the 16th Seminar on Economic Research, “Big and Alternative Data in Finance and Economics: Challenges and Achievements,” took place. Marina Turuntseva, Senior Researcher at Short-Term Forecasting Department, Gaidar Institute, participated in the roundtable discussion “Data for Modern Research: Practical Aspects.” In her report, “[Big] Data: A Luxury or a Resource Curse?”, she presented a systematic analysis of the opportunities and challenges of working with different types of data for socio-economic research.

On November 17th the 5^th issue of Economic Policy was available for readers.  Economic Policy is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal established by the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in 2006.

Researchers of the Gaidar Institute’s International Best Practices Analysis Department prepared the next issue of the Monitoring of Legal Regulation of the Digital Economy №10(22),October 2025 where they talked about new trends in the development of regulation of the digital economy in the world.

On November 14, the Grushinsky Prize ceremony was held, an annual award for achievements in the field of sociological literature. The winners in all four main categories were announced at the ceremony.

Gaidar Institute Press has been nominated for the annual Grushin Prize. Bertrand Russell's “Power: A New Social Analysis”  translated by Dmitry Kralechkin was shortlisted in the Best Translation category.

In the summer of 2025, the Gaidar Institute’s Center for Evidence-Based Expertise carried out a study timed to coincide with the adoption of the Federal Law “On Certain Issues of Platform Economy Regulation in the Russian Federation.” The study was focused on a comprehensive analysis of the new law, international trends in the regulation of digital platforms—in particular, marketplaces—as well as an examination of the structure of the Russian market and the experience of partners and consumers interacting with the largest platforms.
