On January 15, 2026, Nina Grigorievna Glavatskaya passed away at the age of 83. She was Head of the Editorial and Publishing Department at the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy and the editor-in-chief of all works published by the Institute for more than 30 years.

On December the 30^th , the 6^th issue of Economic Policy was available for readers. Economic Policy is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal established by the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in 2006.

On December 19–20, 2025, Irina Tolmacheva, Head of Legal Department at the Gaidar Institute, Deputy Director of the Endowment Fund for the Development of Social and Economic Sciences and Education (FoRSENO), delivered a presentation during the X Academic Fundraising Forum. The event was organized by the Urals Federal University in Yekaterinburg and was dedicated to new models of interaction with the university community.

On December 22, 2025, Dmitry Evgenievich Kuznetsov, Researcher at the International Trade Department, successfully defended his Candidate of Sciences thesis at the RANEPA Dissertation Council. The topic of his study was "Application of Heterogeneous Firm Theory Models to Identify Factors Affecting the Competitiveness of Russian Enterprises in Foreign Markets."

Researchers of the Gaidar Institute’s International Best Practices Analysis Department prepared the next issue of the Monitoring of Legal Regulation of the Digital Economy №11(23),November 2025 where they talked about new trends in the development of regulation of the digital economy in the world.

Petr Sergeevich Sinelnikov-Murylev, Researcher at the Gaidar Institute's Short-Term Forecasting Department, successfully defended thesis at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).

The popular science project Econs presented a review of the new book «Fiscal Policy under Low Interest Rates» by Olivier Blanchard, one of the world's most cited economist. The work, which focuses on the intricacies of fiscal policy in modern conditions, was published in Russian by Gaidar Institute Press in 2025

Konstantin Sergeevich Rybak, Researcher at the Gaidar Institute's Department for Digital Finance, defended his Candidate of Sciences thesis at the RANEPA Dissertation Council. The topic of the thesis is “Multivariate autoregressive models as a tool for analyzing the impact of various shocks on the economy and forecasting key macroeconomic indicators.”

On December 11, 2025, Alexey Vasilievich Zamnius, Researcher at Mathematical Modeling of Economic Processes Department, defended the dissertation at the Economics Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. His thesis is on “Modeling the impact of progressive taxation of labor income on key macroeconomic indicators in Russia.”

On December 11, 2025, the Department of Economics at the Lomonosov Moscow State University hosted the defense of the thesis of Deni Rizvanovich Sugaipov, Researcher at the Gaidar Institute's Mathematical Modeling of Economic Processes Department. His thesis is on “Modeling the Impact of News Shocks on Key Macroeconomic Indicators.”

From November 14 to 18, the Russian-Chinese International Forum on Innovative Cooperation in Molecular Medicine was held in China. Maria Girich and Оlga Magomedova, Researchers at the Gaidar Institute's International Best Practices Analysis Department, participated in the event. The Forum aims to develop a new roadmap for innovative collaboration in molecular medicine and to boost the sustainable development of global healthcare.

On December 5, Antonina Levashenko, Head of International Best Practices Analysis Department at the Gaidar Institute, took part in the conference “Digital ruble and digital financial assets”, organized by Russia’s Foundation for Educational Programs “Economy and Management.”
