STEPAN ZEMTSOV: “HOW MANY SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESSES RUSSIA LOST IN Q1-2 OF 2020?”

Stepan Zemtsov, senior researcher, Innovation Economy Department at Gaidar Institute, gave comments to IA REGNUM on the news item that the number of small and medium-sized enterprises in Russia decreased by 4.2% over the year.

“In order FTS of Russia removes this or that company from its register, many firms prefer not to submit financial reporting for several years instead of submitting applications and documents for liquidation. Accordingly, we will see the real business dynamic in the FTS registers solely next year. This year, due to the crisis, companies were allowed to specify turnover and resubmit average headcount forms, consequently the number of SME firms in the register increased in March-June,”- marked expert.
According to S. Zemtsov, truthful overview of redundancies and bankruptcies can be seen solely in 2021.
