On November 14, the Grushinsky Prize ceremony was held, an annual award for achievements in the field of sociological literature. The winners in all four main categories were announced at the ceremony.
Gaidar Institute Press received the award for Bertrand Russell's book Power: A New Social Analysis, which was shortlisted in the Best Translation category. The translation was done by Dmitry Kralechkin. The award reflects recognition of the professional level of the publication and the quality of the translation.
The Grushin Prize, established in memory of the outstanding Russian sociologist Boris Grushin, is the first and so far the only prize in Russia that recognizes achievements in sociological literature. It was established in 2020 by the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the Moscow School of Economics, Politics and International Relations (Shaninka), and the VTsIOM Analytical Center, and is traditionally presented on Sociologist's Day.
