ANDREY KAUKIN: “EXPECTATIONS FOR GROWTH IN GLOBAL GAS DEMAND LOOK JUSTIFIED”

Andrey Kaukin, Head of Industrial Organization and Infrastructure Economics Department at the Gaidar Institute, commented to IA REGNUM on the forecast of Alexander Novak, the RF Minister of Energy, who stated that Russia will not reach the peak of gas output in the near future, as the global gas demand will grow in the coming decades.

According to Andrey Kaukin, the expectations for growth in global gas demand look justified. He claims that such countries as China or India may gradually abandon coal in favor of natural gas.
