”Nezavisimaya gazeta”reported that in the context of the energy transition and sanctions, Russia faces more difficulties in the foreign markets: the competition is not only in prices and quality, but also in environmental and political costs. According to Alexander Knobel, Head of International Trade Department of the Gaidar Institute, sanctions can have a negative impact both through the ban on imports of Russian products to other countries and through restrictions on supplies of necessary components to Russia.

The latter, according to expert, affects not only high-tech exports, but also raw material exports, "as shown by the ban on the supply of equipment for offshore oil production.
