Vladimir Sedalishchev, expert at the Economic Policy Foundation, told RBC which scenarios for developing global economy and digital technologies appear most realistic today.

According to the expert, the so-called "digital Darwinism" model involving concentration of technological advantages among a small number of major players, is unlikely to ensure sustainable economic growth in the long term. The speaker noted that increasing inequality usually results in redistribution of resources through economic and political mechanisms.

"The most likely project today is a combination of scenarios that can be described as a 'fragmented world with accelerated AI.' We already observe rising digital protectionism, increased regulation of digital assets, and governments intention to control technology platforms and data. In this context, the scenario of a global 'climate coalition' appears less likely," Vladimir Sedalishchev noted.

He emphasized that further development of artificial intelligence will take place amid increasing competition between countries and technology centers, while the states will increasingly strive for technological sovereignty.
