The Gaidar Institute has launched a podcast “Economics on Air”

The Gaidar Institute presents a new project – an original podcast “Economics on Air,” in which experts analyze current trends and events in the field of economics in detail. The focus is on key issues such as the development of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, price dynamics, the national currency exchange rate, digital asset regulation, inflationary processes, and labor market transformation.

Each episode of the podcast will be devoted to discussing one of the current economic issues. The speakers are researchers from the Institute's specialized laboratories, which guarantees the depth and practical value of each episode.

The first episode, “Personal Data: Is It Yours or Not?”, featured Antonina Levashenko, Head of the Gaidar Institute's International Best Practices Analysis Department. The expert examined issues of digital security and privacy. She discussed five key risks of modern data collection practices for users and society as a whole and explained in detail the technologies of hidden information collection, including the use of cookies, the formation of a “browser fingerprint,” and the use of e-mail pixels. In addition, Antonina Levashenko touched on the legal status of personal data, discussing the issue of ownership rights and the possibility of returning control over digital footprints to users.
