Olga Magomedova, Researcher of International Best Practices Analysis Department at the Gaidar Institute, noted in a commentary for Vedomosti the intensive and qualitative expansion of the Moscow pharmaceutical market. Her assessment of the pharmaceutical industry's development came in the context of the overall growth of the Moscow industry, which, according to the authorities, is supported by government support measures and localization opportunities in special economic zones.
The expert explained that growth is being driven not only by a large-scale increase in drug production but also by the implementation of new solutions. "This is happening not only due to the constant expansion of production (it is about multiple growth rates in production volumes, i.e. from 1.6- to 6.5-fold in various drug categories), but also thanks to innovative solutions," said Olga Magomedova.
Her comment was made in the context of the overall growth of Moscow's industry and the development of the pharmaceutical sector, particularly facilitated by business support measures and opportunities for localizing production in special economic zones (SEZs).
