On November 2, a meeting of Aleksey Vedev, Leading Researcher, Financial Studies Department, and Japanese Embassy in Russia represented by Mr. Tsutomu Koizumi, Minister of Economic Department, and Mr. Yasuharu Tanaka, First Secretary of Economic Department, took place.

On November 1, Stepan Zemtsov, Senior Researcher, Innovation Economics Department of  Gaidar Institute, delivered a presentation “State support of highly technological and knowledge driven activities” in the course of RANEPA open seminar.

On 31 October, within the frameworks of the annual conference meeting of the Association of Computer and Information Technology Companies (ACITC) , one of the most representative non-profit associations of the IT industry in Russia, Alexei Vedev, Leading Researcher of the Financial Studies Department delivered a report on the key risks of the social and economic development of the Russian Federation in the mid-term prospect and touched upon the challenges related to development of the digital economy in Russia.

Stepan Zemtsov Speaks on the Regional Development Factors in Russia

On 24 October, Head of the International Department of Fiscal Sustainability and Professor at Boston University Laurence Kotlikoff delivered his presentation titled ‘Using the Global Gaidar Model to Simulate the World's Dynamic Demographic, Fiscal, Technological and Economic Transition’.

On 23 October, Head of the Innovation Economics Department Vera Barinova and Senior Researcher of that department Stepan Zemtsov took part in a discussion on sustainable regional development strategies which was held in St Petersburg within the framework of the XVIIth All-Russia Forum ‘Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: Stakeholders of the Future’.

On 23 October, Vera Barinova, Head of the Innovation Economy Department and Stepan Zamtsov, Senior Researcher of the Innovation Economy Department presented the methods of evaluation – based on the WEF inclusive development index -- of sustainable growth of Russian regions in 1998-2016. The index takes simultaneously into account both economic growth and reduction of social disparities and an environmental load.

Head of the Center for Real Sector of  Gaidar Institute Georgy Idrisov took part in the discussion of challenges and risks involved in the achievement of goals set in the May 2018 Presidential Executive Order.

On 19 October, Head of the Center for Real Sector of  Gaidar Institute Georgy Idrisov and Head of the International Trade Department Alexander Knobel took part in the conference ‘Monitoring of Russia’s Economy’, which was held at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
