Kirill Chernovol, Researcher of the International Best Practices Analysis Department at the Gaidar Institute, and Alexey Vedev, Leading Researcher of the Financial Sector Department at the Gaidar Institute, took part in the ”Den” program at the RBC channel.
The discussion focused on the changes in the banking policies of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Program participants discussed increasing fees for depositing cash rubles into bank accounts for non-residents. In some cases, the fee reaches 15%.
Economists examined the reasons for introduction of such restrictions, their possible consequences for individuals and businesses, as well as the impact of new banking rules on transactions with the Russian ruble in neighboring countries.
