Dmitry Evdokimov, Researcher at the Gaidar Institute's Laboratory for Quantitative Analysis of Economic Effects, noted in a comment for Vzglyad that the first flight of the serial import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft signifies the readiness of the configuration planned for delivery.
"In April, an aircraft took to the skies for the first time with domestic PD-8 engines, but it was SJ-100 prototype. This was a stage of testing the power plant on a test machine. In September, the first flight of the “serial” SJ-100 took place, which means the transition from flight demonstrators to a machine assembled using serial technologies and fully equipped with Russian systems, including the PD-8. The fact of the flight confirms the readiness of the configuration planned for delivery," the expert emphasized.
