Diana Golovanova, a Researcher of the International Best Practices Analysis Department at the Gaidar Institute, talked to Agency of urban news Moscow and assessed the dynamics of pet-friendly development market in the public places in Moscow.
She believes, the number of such eateries has nearly tripled over the past five years, from 750 to 2000, and their share in the Moscow market has reached 5%, higher than the Russian average (3%). While previously guests with pets were simply not turned away, now they are offered a full-fledged service: a special menu for dogs, and sometimes even "dog beer" and desserts. Statistics show that a third of customers feel better about these places, if they offer such options.
