Within the scope of the "World Atomic Week" international forum, held at VDNKh in Moscow on September 25-28, 2025, round table discussion "Industrial Robotization: A Smart Machine to Help Humans, or will Cyborgs Replace Humans?" was held. The discussion was moderated by Alexei Vedev, Leading Researcher at the Gaidar Institute, Director of the Center for Macroeconomic Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Leading industry experts took part in the event, namely: Meng Jingjun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Techenergy Co (China); Andrei Golovin, Director of the SBER Center for Robotics; Vadim Ippolitov, Director General of the Center for Robotic Technologies; Liu Hongyun, Director General of China Nuclear Power Operation Technology Corporation, as well as representatives of the Russian nuclear industry, including Maxim Vinokurov, Deputy Director General for Robotics at Rosatom Service.
The participants discussed the role of artificial intelligence and robotics in the development of industry, having emphasized that human beings and their needs remained the highest priority of automation. According to the speakers, robots are meant not to replace humans, but to take on routine and dangerous tasks, thus improving the quality of life and raising labor efficiency.
Moderating the discussion, Alexey Vedev emphasized the importance of developing sustainable approaches to managing complex robotic systems, as well as training personnel for working effectively with new technologies in the age of global digital transformation.
The Forum, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry, has become a venue for showcasing the achievements of the Russian nuclear industry and partners.
