Aleksey Vedev received Medal “In recognition of Research in Economic Analysis”

On April 11, Aleksey Vedev, candidate of economic sciences, Leading Researcher, Financial Studies Department of the Gaidar Institute, received an ARETT Medal “In Recognition of Research in Economic Analysis”.
The award ceremony took place under NRU HSE April Conference. Aleksey Vedev also delivered an honorary lecture “Key risks of the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation in the medium term”.

In his presentation, he underlined key risks of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation in the medium term. According to expert, the impact of foreign economic factors, which formed up to half of the GDP growth rate, will end after 2012. The number of employees will change to a negative area and as a consequence, potential GDP growth rate will decrease to 2% per year. 
Аleksey  Vedev pointed out major factors of the GDP potential growth. This includes: increase of main capital with a potentially feasible growth by 1.1–1.2 pp, use of labor resources with growth of the GDP by 0.2–0.3 pp and improvement of cumulative efficiency of those factors, i.e. labor and capital with growth of the GDP by 0.7–1.0 pp.
