A public lecture on cryptocurrencies was held at the Library on Gazetny.

Yesterday, June 25, a public lecture -- "The Present and Future of Cryptocurrencies: Functions, Regulation and Investments" -- was held at the Library on Gazetny.

The speakers included Andrey Zubarev, Senior Researcher at the Gaidar Institute's Digital Finance Studies Department and Vladislav Alexandrov, Managing Director of ALT3 Capital, an investment company. The experts discussed the aspects that define the current state of the crypto industry.

The focus was made on the key principles of cryptocurrency regulation in various countries, FATF’s functional approach and the specifics of regulation in the EU. The functional regulation of cryptoassets and the principle of the functional multidimensionality of cryptocurrencies were examined separately. The speakers presented a classification of digital currencies and discussed in detail the place digital assets can occupy in an investment portfolio.
