Volumes 6 and 7 of the Collected Works of Yegor Gaidar Released

Volumes 6 and 7 of the Collected Works of Yegor Gaidar were released (Moscow: "Delo" Publishing House of the Russian Academy for the National Economy and Public Administration, 2013. – 480 p., 408 p.).

Volume Six of the collected works includes essays written by Yegor Gaidar during the most difficult and contradictory period in the recent economic history of Russia - the 1990's. The first essay was published in November 1992, immediately after the rise to power of the reformers; the following ones were published at the end of 1999, when it had become clear that the transformation crisis, with all its difficulties, was over.

Volume Seven contains essays published between 2001 and 2009. They provide an analysis of the more substantial economic and political processes of the period: the gradual degeneration of economic policy, excessive growth of budgetary expenses, worsening entrepreneurial climate and the necessity of nascent reform. The relation between Russian development and the world economic situation is traced. Concrete proposals for the resolution of the most timely and strategic problems are provided.
