Annotation
In January, negative trends in the Russian industrial sector remained unchanged. Enterprises reacted to fall in effective demand by ceasing growth in their output, reestimating the stocks of finished goods and slowdown of the decrease in the volume of barter transactions. The barter forecasts testify to the producer’s intent to get back once again to non-monetary sales schemes, should the situation be deteriorating further on. However, the forecasts of output and effective demand, as well as enterprises' estimates of their financial and economic position show their hopes for renewal of a normal (monetary) industrial growth after the January holidays.
