Capital transfers represent the largest mega-engineering projects in the history of mankind, which also have a profound impact on the political life of States. Although various capital transfer projects are currently being considered in more than 30 countries, the phenomenon remains poorly understood and systematically understood. The book deals with models of such transfers, localization schemes of capitals, historical contexts, motivations and forms of decision-making, as well as methodological approaches to this issue. To assess the effectiveness of the capital city, the author turns to the prospects of spatial economy, comparative study of federalism and semiotics of urban spaces, analysis of their iconography, ideology and symbolism.
