Investigation of Main Tendencies in the Development of the Indirect Taxation System in Russia in 2000-2007 (press-release)

This publications contains analysis of main tendencies in the development of the indirect taxation system in Russia in 2000-2007. Thе authors pay most attention to the study of outcome of VAT reform and comparison of VAT application in Russia, on the one hand, and in CIS and Baltic countries, on the other. They concentrate their attention on discuss-ing the future development of VAT in Russia. Moreover, this work includes the analysis of excise taxation evolution in Russia in 2000-2007. Major tendencies in the dynamics and structure of excise returns in Russia for the period are singled out. The possibilities of use of excises for increasing the quality of oil products are determined.
