Conference “"Dubna" Special Economic Zone – Prospect for Development”

On November 26-27, 2009, the IV-th annual conference “"Dubna" Special Economic Zone – Prospects for Development” was held in Dubna. It was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, regional and local authorities, business and science.


A Roundtable was arranged in the framework of the Conference on the subject “Innovative Special Economic Zones. Domestic and International Experience”. The session was chaired by S.V. Prikhodko, IET Executive Director. The following subjects were discussed:
  • are there sufficient technical innovative incentives (TII) in the Russian special economic zones to attract investors;
  • are the Russian TII able to solve strategic national objectives;
  • what is the TII role in the national economic development at this stage and will there be a need for special economic zones in 10–15 years;
  • how efficient are the existing coordination and interaction between the federal center and regions in the creation of special economic zones;
  • how efficient are the regulations and legal framework of the Russian special economic zones.
