Application of non-tariff barriers (Press-release)

The press service of the Gaidar Institute reports that in the series "Scientific Works" there was prepared a new Institute's research (№ 150) "Application of non-tariff barriers" (M: Publishing house of the Gaidar Institute 2011. - 152 p.). Authors: V. Idrisova.

This paper investigates the sensitivity of the physical volume of imports of foreign goods to non-tariff measures in regulation of foreign trade in Russia and other former Soviet republics. The author gives estimates of the ad valorem equivalent of each non-tariff measure for various commodity groups. Research findings can be used for the assessment of customs and tariff policy of the government.
