ALEXEI VEDEV ACTED AS AN EXPERT AT THE “NEW ECONOMY OF SIBERIA” FORUM

On December 9, Alexei Vedev, Head of the Financial Studies Department of the Gaidar Institute took part in the New Economy of Siberia” Forum held at the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM).

At the forum, Alexei Vedev presented a forecast of the short-term social and economic development of the Russian Federation, spoke about changing trends and key economic development drivers. To react promptly to external challenges, it is necessary to change from within, that is, to look for new models, approaches, regulatory instruments, as well as formats of networking between the authorities and business.

The forum was attended by representatives of the government of the Novosibirsk Region, foreign scholars, Russian journalists and economists. The forum’s program was meant to give both individuals and the business community a better understanding of the current economic situation. The forum participants discussed modern risks of financial investments, new forms of business support, the future of the currency market for domestic manufacturers and other present-day topical issues.
