The study consists of three parts. The first part examines the degree to which the Russian securities market is integrated into the global financial system. The second part examines the factors of volatility and returns on Russian stock market assets. The objective of the third part is to address certain issues of efficiency in the banking sector, specifically, to examine the effects of economies of scale in the operations of Russian credit institutions.
