Title: ECONOMICS AND LAW. Constitutional Issues in Economic Reform in Russia
Abstract: TThis paper examines the constitutional challenges of economic reforms in Russia in light of the existing experience of developed and developing countries. The constitutional factor has played, and continues to play, a crucial role in the economic reforms of post-communist Russia, as well as in their successes and failures. This is a relatively new issue in Russian political life—until the late 1980s, the constitutional factor played a minimal, if not purely symbolic, role in our country. Although there are numerous studies on these topics abroad. At present, some material has already been accumulated for the analysis of the constitutional issues of economic reforms (and, more broadly, economic development) in Russia. The author expresses sincere gratitude to his colleagues who assisted in the work on this book. This book would not have been written without the careful and thoughtful assistance of the late Andrei Ivanovich Volosatov, with whom the author shared five years of close and fruitful collaboration. I would also like to express my gratitude to my colleagues at the Institute for Economic Problems of the Transition Period and the Working Center for Economic Reforms under the Government of the Russian Federation—E.
