The Gaidar Institute launched lecture series on multivariate statistical analysis

The first of the series of lectures on multivariate statistical analysis took place on September 18 in the Gaidar Institute.

Nikita Puchkin, Junior researcher of the Joint Scientific/Educational Laboratory of Applied Mathematics, Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), a postgraduate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Higher School of Economics, started the course of lectures with reviewing methods of classification.Methods of logical regression, "k" – nearest neighbors’ algorithm, reference vectors including their advantages and disadvantages relevant to the task classification.Cases by topics are intended for consideration at the next lecture to be held on October 2 at 10.00 am.
