ALEXEY VEDEV SPOKE AT THE MEETING OF ARETT DISPUTE CLUB “WHAT THE TWENTY FIRST KEEPS IN STORE FOR US?”
Alexey Vedev, Head of Financial Studies Department of the Gaidar Institute, took part in the online meeting of a dispute club of the Association of Russian Economic Think Tanks “What the twenty first keeps in store for us?”
In his speech, Alexey Vedev presented a forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation in 2021-2024 and noted that Russian economy has been in stagnation for a decade with its average annual growth rate (excluding 2020) below 1%. Compared to other countries, the decline in Russian GDP is expected to be moderate, i.e. by 3.6-3.8%. However, the recovery growth according to many estimates will be at the level of 2.1-2.3% this year, and the pre-crisis approach will take place no earlier than the end of 2022.
